Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club
Richard Meier's 2017 hotel-and-residences project wrapped around Russell Pancoast's 1930 Surf Club — 77 hotel rooms, 25 hotel residences and 156 private apartments on a 9-acre Collins Avenue beachfront. Joseph Dirand did everything inside: bedrooms, public spaces, spa, restaurants. Two of those restaurants are Thomas Keller's The Surf Club Restaurant (continental) and Marco Calenzo's Lido (Italian); the spa runs a traditional hammam. Fernando Wong handled the landscape.
