Mandarin Oriental, Milan
Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel's 104-key restoration of four 18th-century buildings on Via Andegari — originally Palazzo Confalonieri (manor house), then the city's tax office, then a Cassa di Risparmio bank — knit together as a single dimora milanese with grand inner courtyards. Antonio Guida runs both kitchens: Mandarin Bar & Bistrot and the two-Michelin-star Seta (the Duomo Private Dining Room is a Fornasetti commission). Six-room TCM-consulted spa, feng-shui-led wellness program. A short walk from La Scala, Montenapoleone and the Duomo.
