Santa Clara 1728 is one of my favourite hotels. It’s a place where you immediately feel at ease. Nothing is overdone, but everything is well thought through. The care shows up in small details rather than big gestures. The proportions are generous ( the rooms breathe) and the views are gorgeous, the kind. The staff are warm, attentive and relaxed, without any stiffness. And João, the owner, is clearly someone with a point of view. The hotel feels personal, like it exists because he really wanted it to exist. Quiet, calm, very human. I know I will be back and can’t wait to discover their other properties.

A lovely stay in a small boutique hotel housed in an 18th-century house, where members of the owner family still reside. Tasteful, calming and with delicious, farm-to-table food. Sara and Carlota from Silent Living’s team followed up before and during our stay to ensure we were well settled and had relevant recommendations for the city.
