Anyone who travels solo knows it can be tricky to enjoy a drink alone, especially in a nice establishment. But from the moment I stepped into The Kissaten, I was warmly greeted and seated at the counter. This gave me the perfect balance—space to chat with the bartenders as much or as little as I wanted, and the chance to meet other solo guests who joined the counter later in the evening. I was served by Nelson, Ruben, and Maz throughout the night, and genuinely loved their approach to cocktails and hospitality. I tried their take on an espresso martini and a highball, and both were excellent. The music was spot on too (I kept joking that it sounded exactly like my own playlist, which is definitely meant as a compliment). I’ll be back next time I’m in Lisbon!

A great first step in a listening bar experience for Lisbon. But it is digital sound, not vinyl. During my visit the sounds never veered from 90’s hip hop (which is great), but I would have hoped for a true listening experience with once genre wrapping, and a different one beginning. Decor needs a bit more depth and variety. It tries but it’s a bit uninspired and staid. Great whiskey list. Aloof bartender. Excellent table server.

We went for a quick drink and the vibes were absolutely amazing. The drinks were delicious and really well crafted, the sound system was incredible, and the staff was friendly. Loved the place. Definitely make a reservation: you might find a spot without one, but it can be tricky. The only suggestion I’d make is adding a coat check. I think it would really improve the overall vibe of the bar.
