I absolutely loved my stay at Macam Hotel in Lisbon! Staying here felt like such a unique and memorable experience — it’s not just a hotel, but also a museum. Being able to explore the museum as part of my stay and discovering beautiful art pieces throughout the corridors and even in the rooms was truly special. The blend of art and hospitality is unlike anything I’ve experienced before. On top of that, the rooms are modern, contemporary, and very comfortable — the perfect balance of style and coziness. If you’re looking for a stay in Lisbon that’s both luxurious and inspiring, I highly recommend Macam Hotel!

Beautifully designed hotel with impeccable service. Just opened a few months ago during summer 2025 in Lisbon’s newest modern art museum, which is the personal collection of Portugal’s most eminent art collector The hotel used to be a palazzo and then a school and it has been meticulously redesigned into a hotel and museum. I didn’t know what to expect staying in a museum, but the hotel felt private and the design was gorgeous. The staff were friendly and very efficient, some of the best I’ve experienced in Portugal. The included breakfast was also of high quality The museum is well balanced and I found the pieces beautiful and thought provoking and appreciated the free tickets for hotel guests. I also liked how the whole development is a Portuguese operation from the owner to the architecture firm and staff, as too many new hotels in Portugal have been built by international chains using foreign investor money to keep up with the recent rise in tourism

Best place to stay in Lisbon! Absolutely loved this hotel, a true hidden gem with a paradise-like garden courtyard. The rooms are spotless, with quality linens and brand-new bathrooms. The hotel is connected to an art museum, so there’s beautiful art everywhere, plus a lovely library with a view of the 25 de Abril Bridge. There was a small mix-up with one of our bookings (caused by the platform, NOT the hotel!!), but Francisco went above and beyond to fix it. Huge thanks to the amazing staff — everyone was so kind and welcoming. Can’t wait to come back!

The hotel is absolutely fantastic. We have traveled all over the world and stayed in many five-star hotels, but this was without a doubt our best experience to date. We stayed for six nights and spent around €2,000 during our stay. The hotel is completely new, modern, and impeccably clean. Every detail is perfectly finished, and the level of luxury is beyond words. Beautiful art is displayed throughout the hotel, there is a stunning garden, an on-site museum, elegant seating areas everywhere, an impressive library and a lovely bar. There is so much to see and do, you truly never stop looking around. The breakfast is sublime. No request is ever too much, and everything you wish for is brought to the table with care and precision. However, what truly sets this hotel apart is the service. The hospitality, communication, attentiveness, and genuine care shown by the staff were exceptional and unforgettable. This is an experience we will not soon forget. We were even offered a room upgrade, which we ultimately declined simply because it felt too much, the level of luxury was almost overwhelming, and we felt genuinely humbled by the offer. We would especially like to mention: • Rafael, always enthusiastic and taking his role very seriously. He will undoubtedly go far. • Vera, the manager, who thinks along with you, offers solutions, and is very open to feedback and pays attention to every detail and wish of the customer. • Catharina, incredibly kind, customer-focused, and perfectly suited for her role. Our first contact with her upon arrival was immediately warm and welcoming. • Raquel (the lady) from the restaurant, who was always attentive to our wishes and did everything she could to serve the most delicious dishes truly sublime. • Claudia, who served our breakfast with great professionalism; very friendly, modest, yet highly service-oriented. • Marcus (the young man), also excellent and clearly doing his utmost best. • And Elmer from the restaurant, an outstanding communicator. Ideally, he should be interacting with guests all day long. His communication is exceptional, everyone immediately feels special with him. So professional, so pleasant. If you want to know what hospitality means, just look at Elmer. He is a gem. There are many more staff members we could mention who made our stay so special. At times, it truly felt as if everyone was our personal assistant. Housekeeping visited multiple times per day, coffee and tea were constantly replenished in the room, and towels, bathrobes, bed, bedding, kettle, and all other equipment were completely new. Everything felt brand new, spotless and perfectly maintained. Roomservice was also perfect, delicious pizza! All in all, this was a perfect stay. One minor point: The dinner itself is of Michelin-star quality and truly excellent (they make every meal-wish come true), but after two evenings we decided not to dine there again due to the unprofessional attitude of the dinner staff on January 19th and 21st. We were the only guests, and it felt as though they were simply waiting out their shift and killing time, laughing loudly, talking among themselves, and watching TikTok videos. This was very distracting and inappropriate for a five-star dining environment. If staff wish to socialize, this should be done discreetly/ in the kitchen, not in front of guests. It felt more like a classroom than a fine-dining restaurant. Perhaps this would be different with a full restaurant, but in our case, the annoying noise of the video's on their phones was very noticeable. At several moments we felt like leaving our food and walk out because the entire atmosphere was ruined. For this reason, we chose to dine elsewhere on the remaining evenings, despite the food itself being a 10/10. The atmosphere simply detracted from the experience. That said, despite this one point, we still give this hotel a 10 out of 10. We sincerely hope many more people will discover and enjoy this hidden gem. We will certainly be returning very soon. Thank you for everything !
