Absolutely loved this chirashi don spot! The variety was incredible and we were genuinely spoilt for choice. It’s a very small restaurant with only 9 seats, so we felt extremely lucky that our group of 8 managed to get a last-minute booking. So thankful we did, as it ended up feeling like the entire restaurant was ours. The experience was great from start to finish. We ended up trusting the owner to order for us, and it was perfect. Not too much, just right. Warm service, intimate setting, and a really memorable meal.

We walked past this spot on our first day in Tainan and decided to try our luck with a booking the following day. Despite having a large group, we were lucky enough to secure a 5:30pm seating by booking out the entire restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the team was incredibly welcoming and made us feel completely at ease. We ended up ordering everything on the menu, and not a single dish disappointed. The sashimi quality was exceptionally fresh, with each don beautifully prepared and full of flavour. Standouts for me were the salmon and flounder dons, while the stuffed chicken wings were an unexpected highlight and a must-order. A memorable dining experience from start to finish.

Simply incredible! I I read about this restaurant in a blog and decided to go early before opening to secure a seat — apparently, a few others had the same idea! Luckily, I managed to get a spot about two hours later, at 13:20. Then a perfect hour started: I started with an ice-cold Japanese beer, and a kind couple invited me and another guest from the U.S. for a free sake — such wonderful hospitality! Watching the staff prepare the food right in front of us was already a highlight. I had the fish bowl first, the quality was outstanding! Then, free of charge, came a fried salmon with salt — maybe the best thing I had there: perfectly cooked, soft inside, crispy outside, and full of flavor from the salt. The sashimi that followed was also excellent (though I preferred it plain rather than with the honey-mustard-like sauce). To finish, we got a small bowl of fish soup, one of the best I’ve ever had. All in all, this place is absolutely worth it when in Tainan or even as a trip just for the food. Just make sure to arrive early or reserve ahead!

9-seater restaurant so do book ahead! But very much worth it. Fresh cuts, made with finesse in front of you. Great service, the team engages you with convo - but not too much or little. Able to make recommendations based on their day's specials! I had: assorted don (look at that fresh variety!), Penghu threeline grunt with pomelo and pickled seaweed, paired with ice cold beer. And they serve soup to round off the meal. Definitely must try if you're in Tainan!
