Bill Bensley's 16-tent camp at the Ruak-Mekong confluence where Thailand, Burma and Laos meet — opened January 2006, built around the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation that the camp helped launch. 19th-century-expedition aesthetic with handcrafted furniture, hardwood floors and thatched roofs; Nong Yao runs Thai-Lao-Burmese cooking, the Burma Bar pours signature lemongrass martinis.
