I had an exceptional stay at the Kaohsiung Intercontinental Hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home. I especially want to highlight Viola 陳彥君at the front desk—she was incredibly helpful, offering great tips on where to shop for anything I needed and even helping me find some super glue to fix my suitcase. She truly went the extra mile when I misplaced my passport, keeping communication clear and making me feel completely at ease. Also, a big shout-out to Sam, the swimming coach, who shared fantastic advice on swimming techniques and post-exercise care. His expertise and friendly approach made my experience even better. Overall, the hotel was beautiful, the food was delicious, and every staff member I met was warm and welcoming. I’d definitely recommend staying here!

My stay at the Intercontinental Kaohsiung back in Oct 2025 was exceptionally pleasant, and I highly recommend it, especially for families or travelers seeking space and luxury. The standout feature was the beautiful, spacious hotel room. The bathroom was a particular delight, featuring a bathtub placed next to a big window. Waking up to a lovely view through the motorized curtain while in the hot tub was a truly memorable experience. The bathroom was also brilliantly practical, equipped with dual sinks and a separate shower area. Storage was never an issue, as the large closet had ample space to comfortably accommodate luggage and clothing for a family of four. The hotel's approach to breakfast added great flexibility. Having the option to purchase it a day in advance while maintaining the discount meant we weren't bound to the hotel and could explore local eateries. When we did dine in, the extensive breakfast buffet impressed with its wide variety of both Asian and Western options, satisfying all tastes in the family. The location is ideal for both shopping and transit, being conveniently situated just across from the FE21 Mega shopping mall and only about a 20-minute cab ride from the airport. Overall, the blend of stunning design, practical amenities, flexible service, and a prime location made for a wonderful and highly recommended stay.

Which stated this hotel with my husband and my sister-in-law‘s partner. The check-in experience with Fiona was extremely present. The rooms, even in the most basic layout, are of an amazing technological standard. You have very many lighting options. The selection at the breakfast is terrific. For our dinner in the restaurant, we got two complementary cakes because two of us in the party we’re celebrating their birthday this month. The staff also took two Polaroid pictures for us as a remembrance. We found that gesture to be very thoughtful and extremely sweet.

I stayed here from Dec 24-25 via the AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts program and was delighted to be upgraded to a Junior Suite. The room was pristine, and finding holiday surprises waiting inside truly set the mood. It reminded me of the Fox’s words in The Little Prince: "They are what make one day different from other days, one hour from other hours." These "rites" and attention to detail explain exactly why this is the only FHR property in Kaohsiung in 2025. Room & Amenities: Please note that due to new government regulations, disposable amenities (toothbrushes, etc.) are no longer free. However, you can purchase a high-quality kit in a nice bag for NT$ 688. The bathroom does include two small bottles of mouthwash, which is a nice touch. Service & Atmosphere: The hospitality here is exceptional. On the windy night of Christmas Eve, I noticed staff proactively changing the door operations to prevent cold wind from rushing into the lobby—a small detail that made a big difference. The unique Teddy Bear Christmas tree also added a wonderful festive charm. We even experienced a significant earthquake that evening (epicenter in Taitung); staying on the 9th floor, I could feel the swaying, but the building felt incredibly solid and safe, not scary at all. Dining at Hawker: Dinner at Hawker was excellent, thanks to the Malaysian chef who kept the flavors authentic. Highlights included the Satay Skewers and Hainanese Chicken. We highly recommend finishing with the Ais Kacang and Hor Ka Sai. A special shout-out to our server, Karen Yang. Her attention to detail was outstanding. She noticed dietary restrictions at our table (dairy/allergies) and proactively checked with the chef to ensure our order was safe and customized. Her service truly elevated the meal.
