The Prada Aoyama flagship in Tokyo, designed by Herzog & de Meuron and completed in 2003, is one of the great works of retail architecture — a faceted crystalline glass building that transformed the Aoyama block into a museum-quality architecture destination. The building is a destination in its own right; the fashion a secondary consideration for many of those who visit it.
